Stimulus Dollars
As part of the nation’s effort to “kick-start” the lagging economy back into high gear, President Obama established the Green Stimulus program, earmarking billions of dollars for re-training of dislocated and minimally employed workers.
Securing its largest grant ever, Owens Community College designed a program using these funds to teach such workers new skills in emerging technologies (solar power and wind turbines) as well as more conventional, high-demand industries (trucking and nursing). In tandem with Owens, Trainco has helped guide dozens and dozens of once-unemployed workers into new careers and immediate paychecks.
